Product Overview

PE polyethylene pipe is a type of plastic pipe characterized by corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and long service life. It is mainly used for water supply and gas pipelines.

Product Features

Good Hygiene Performance:

No heavy metal salt stabilizers are added during PE polyethylene pipe processing. The material is non-toxic, does not form scale, and does not breed bacteria, effectively solving the problem of secondary pollution of urban drinking water.

Excellent Corrosion Resistance:

Except for a few strong oxidizing agents, it can resist the erosion of various chemical media; there is no electrochemical corrosion.

Long Service Life:

Under rated temperature and pressure conditions, PE pipes can be used safely for more than 50 years.

Good Impact Resistance:

PE pipes have good toughness and high impact strength. Heavy objects can directly pass over the pipe without causing it to break.

Reliable Connection Performance:

The strength of the heat-fusion or electrofusion joint of PE pipe is higher than that of the pipe body. The joint will not break due to soil movement or live loads.

Good Construction Performance:

The pipe is lightweight, the welding process is simple, construction is convenient, and the overall project cost is low.

Product Performance

⑴ Reliable Connection: Polyethylene pipe systems are connected by electrofusion, and the strength of the joint is higher than that of the pipe body.

(2) Excellent Low-Temperature Impact Resistance: Polyethylene has an extremely low low-temperature embrittlement temperature, allowing for safe use within a temperature range of -60 to 60℃. During winter construction, the material's excellent impact resistance prevents pipe cracking.

(3) Excellent Stress Cracking Resistance: HDPE exhibits low notch sensitivity, high shear strength, and excellent scratch resistance, with outstanding resistance to environmental stress cracking.

(4) Excellent Chemical Corrosion Resistance: HDPE pipes are resistant to corrosion from various chemical media; chemicals present in the soil will not cause any degradation to the pipes. Polyethylene is an electrical insulator, therefore it will not rot, rust, or undergo electrochemical corrosion; furthermore, it does not promote the growth of algae, bacteria, or fungi.

(5) Resistant to Aging and Long Service Life: Polyethylene pipes containing 2-2.5% uniformly distributed carbon black can be stored or used outdoors for 50 years without damage from ultraviolet radiation.

(6) Excellent Abrasion Resistance: Comparative tests of abrasion resistance between HDPE pipes and steel pipes show that HDPE pipes have four times the abrasion resistance of steel pipes. In the field of slurry transportation, HDPE pipes offer better wear resistance compared to steel pipes, meaning they have a longer service life and better economic efficiency.

(7) Good flexibility: The flexibility of HDPE pipes makes them easy to bend. In engineering projects, obstacles can be bypassed by changing the pipe route. In many cases, the flexibility of the pipes reduces the amount of fittings used and lowers installation costs.

(8) Low flow resistance: HDPE pipes have a smooth inner surface with a Manning coefficient of 0.009. This smooth surface and non-adhesive properties ensure that HDPE pipes have a higher conveying capacity than traditional pipe materials, while also reducing pressure loss and water transport energy consumption.

(9) Easy handling: HDPE pipes are lighter than concrete pipes, galvanized pipes, and steel pipes, making them easy to handle and install. Lower manpower and equipment requirements mean significantly reduced installation costs for projects.

(10) Multiple New Construction Methods: HDPE pipes offer a variety of construction technologies. Besides traditional open-cut methods, they can also be constructed using new trenchless techniques such as pipe jacking, directional drilling, lining, and pipe bursting. This is the only option for locations where excavation is not permitted, thus broadening the application range of HDPE pipes.

Pipe Connections

  • Electrofusion Welding: Straight pipes are connected to each other or to fittings using a specialized electrofusion welding machine. Generally used for pipes under 160mm.
  • Butt Fusion Connection: Pipes are connected using a specialized butt welding machine. Generally used for pipes over 160mm.
  • Steel-Plastic Connection: Connections can be made using flanges, threads, etc.
  • To facilitate construction and ensure construction quality, appropriate tools should also be prepared.
