PP blind plates are flanges without a central hole, used to seal off pipe openings.

Material and Characteristics

PP blind plates are typically made of polypropylene (PP) or high-molecular-weight homopolymer polypropylene (PPH). They possess excellent chemical resistance, withstanding strong corrosive media such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and sodium hydroxide; they are lightweight, weighing only about 1/4 of steel blind flanges, making them easy to transport and install; they also have good creep resistance and a certain degree of high-temperature resistance, with PPH blind flanges operating stably in environments from -20℃ to 100℃.

Structural Types

The main types include flat blind flanges, necked butt-weld blind flanges, and figure-eight blind flanges. Flat blind flanges are suitable for low-pressure conditions; necked butt-weld blind flanges are suitable for medium and high-pressure and high-temperature environments; figure-eight blind flanges have a blind flange at one end and a throttling ring at the other, allowing for quick switching of the pipe's open and closed states, facilitating maintenance.

Connection Methods

The main connection methods are flange connection and hot-melt socket welding. Flange connection involves fastening with bolts to the corresponding flange and requires a matching gasket, suitable for various pipe diameters; hot-melt socket welding is suitable for small-diameter pipes with DN≤50, providing strong sealing after welding.
