Product Overview
FRPP Y-type filters refer to Y-type filters whose valve bodies are made of fiber-reinforced polypropylene (FRP). They combine the chemical corrosion resistance and lightweight properties of plastics, making them suitable for applications sensitive to metals or requiring corrosion resistance.
Working Principle
Structurally, the "Y"-shaped design of the FRPP Y-type filter is its core highlight. It consists of four parts: valve body, filter basket, inlet/outlet interfaces, and cleaning port. The valve body uses a Y-shaped flow channel, allowing fluid to naturally divert as it passes through, while providing stable installation space for the filter basket. The filter basket, the core component of the filtration system, is made of corrosion-resistant plastic and features numerous precision filter pores that accurately intercept impurities of different particle sizes. The inlet/outlet interfaces connect to the pipeline, and the cleaning port is used for periodic disassembly of the filter basket to remove impurities. These three components work together to form a complete filtration system.
Filtration Process
Following the logic of "interception-diversion-discharge," the steps are clear and efficient. When fluid enters the filter's inlet through the main pipeline, it flows along the flow channel to the filter basket. At this point, solid impurities in the fluid (such as silt, rust, and particulate matter) are blocked by the filter basket's pores and remain inside the basket; while the clean fluid can pass smoothly through the filter pores, flowing along another branch of the Y-shaped flow channel to the outlet end, and finally entering subsequent pipelines or equipment. The entire process requires no additional power, relying solely on the fluid's own pressure to complete filtration, saving energy and ensuring a stable flow rate, avoiding significant pressure loss in the pipeline due to filtration.
Installation Specifications
The installation specifications directly affect the filtration effect and service life of the frppY-type filter, and three key points must be noted. First, the installation direction must strictly follow the arrow markings on the valve body. The arrow direction must be consistent with the fluid flow direction. If installed in reverse, the fluid will not be able to flow directly out of the filter basket, thus losing its filtering function. Second, the cleaning port must be installed facing downwards. This is because when cleaning impurities, opening the cleaning port allows the impurities in the filter basket to fall off naturally by gravity, eliminating the need for additional cleaning tools and reducing operational difficulty. Third, the connection method must be selected according to the pipe material and operating conditions. Common options include flange connections and heat fusion connections. Flange connections are suitable for large-diameter pipes, DN50 and above, or scenarios requiring frequent disassembly, providing a strong connection and good sealing. Heat fusion connections are suitable for plastic pipes, fusing the filter interface to the pipe at high temperatures, eliminating the risk of leakage and adapting to scenarios with high corrosion resistance requirements, such as chemical and water treatment industries.
