Product Overview

PP reducers are pipe fittings used to connect two PP pipes of different diameters. The common material is polypropylene (PP), which is acid and alkali resistant, lightweight, and easy to install.

Functions:

Changing Duct Cross-Sectional Area:

Smoothly transitioning airflow from a large cross-section to a small cross-section (contraction), or from a small cross-section to a large cross-section (expansion), thereby achieving the conversion of wind speed and wind pressure.

Connecting Pipes of Different Diameters:

In system design, the dimensions of main pipes, branch pipes, and equipment interfaces may differ; reducers are key to achieving seamless connection between them.

Reducing Local Resistance:

A well-designed reducer (with a certain taper) is more effective than a direct "diameter change" in reducing turbulence and aerodynamic noise, and lowering system pressure loss.

Main Types and Structures

By Change Direction:

Concentric Reducer:The center axis of the reducer is on the same straight line. This is the most common type, used for straight pipe sections where the pipe centerline needs to remain unchanged.
Eccentric Reducer:One side of the reducer is straight (bottom or top flush). Primarily used for horizontal pipes to maintain a consistent bottom or top elevation during the change, preventing liquid accumulation (keeping the bottom flush) or facilitating drainage (keeping the top flush).

By Number of Changes:

Single Reducer:Connects two pipe sizes.
Double Reducer/Multi-stage Reducer:One end is one size, the other is another size, with a third size in between. Used to connect pipes with significantly different sizes, allowing for a smoother airflow transition and reducing pressure loss.

According to manufacturing method:

Molded one-piece molding:Highest quality, high strength, smooth inner wall, and beautiful appearance. Suitable for standard sizes.
Welded/jointed molding:For non-standard or extra-large sizes, sheet metal may be welded.

Connection methods:

Butt welding:Directly butt-welded after heat fusion, strong and durable;
Socket welding:Sealed with a welding rod after insertion, quick construction;
Flanged:With flange, bolted connection, easy to disassemble, slightly more expensive.
